A trio of horizontal-format Chinese paintings executed in ink and colour on paper or silk. The works are rendered in the traditional gongbi style, a meticulous technique focusing on bird-and-flower subjects. The upper painting depicts a single long-tailed bird perched on a branch of flowering hibiscus with a small red seal in the lower-right corner. The central painting shows a large white peony blossom with butterflies and bees, featuring a bird on a branch above. This work contains a vertical column of Chinese calligraphy on the left, which includes characters for seventy-two (七十二), indicating the artist’s age at the time of execution, followed by two red square seal marks. The lower painting features two small birds perched on a branch of pink blossoms. Each piece is mounted behind glass in a gilt-finished frame.
