Lot 887: A Vintage English Yew Wood Low Bookcase or Sideboard
A 20th-century English yew wood veneered low bookcase or side cabinet of rectangular form. The piece features two frieze drawers decorated with burr yew cross-banded veneers and fitted with brass-toned swan-neck bail handles. Below the drawers are two glazed doors opening to an interior with adjustable shelving. The unit is constructed from yew wood veneers over a composite board substrate and is supported by a simple moulded plinth base. No maker’s marks, retailer labels, or stamps are visible. A pink circular sticker with the handwritten number 32 is affixed to the left drawer front.
