Lot 890: A Pair of Framed Artworks Comprising a British School 19th Century Sporting Drawing and a Colour Print 'Sheep on a Wooded Path'
This lot consists of two framed works depicting traditional subjects. The first is a British School nineteenth century sporting drawing executed in charcoal and white chalk on toned paper. The composition focuses on the head of a spaniel-type dog shown in profile holding a pheasant in its mouth. The work is unsigned and is housed in an ornate dark wooden frame with a carved repeating motif and a gilt inner slip. The second item is a colour print on paper titled Sheep on a Wooded Path as inscribed on a plaque inset into the mount. The image depicts a flock of sheep on a sun-dappled path within a forest of tall trees. The print is presented in a dark wooden frame with a gilt inner edge and a multi-layered cream mount with gold-lined borders. An auction sticker for HCP Auctions South West with the lot number 890 is adhered to the lower right corner of the frame.
