This collection of English ironstone tableware is produced by J. H. Weatherby and Sons Ltd at the Falcon Pottery, Hanley. The items are fashioned in the Wheat moulded pattern, characterised by scalloped rims and embossed wheat-ear motifs. The lot features two decorative transfer-printed designs. The first is a monochromatic brown floral and foliate scroll pattern, present on the teapot and its matching cover, a small lidded bowl, and various saucers. The second design is a polychrome transfer-printed scene depicting game birds in a naturalistic landscape, seen on the jug and multiple bowls. The base of the jug bears a printed backstamp with a Union Jack flag and the words DURABILITY, WEATHERBY, HANLEY, ENGLAND, ROYAL, FALCON WARE, and ROYAL CROWNFORD IRONSTONE, along with the pattern name WHEAT. The assortment is contained within a plastic washbowl.
