Lot 940: Mid-20th-Century Queen Anne Style Burr Walnut Cocktail Cabinet
A mid-20th-century Queen Anne style cocktail or drinks cabinet featuring highly figured book-matched burr walnut veneers. The cabinet is constructed with a two-door front and a decorative top panel, both showcasing figured walnut with cross-banded borders. The structure is supported by an integral base with a shaped, carved apron and four cabriole legs terminating in pad feet. The cabinet is fitted with ornate, pierced brass butterfly hinges and a central lock escutcheon. A decorative vertical brass handle is mounted to the top panel, which may indicate a lift-top or fall-front mechanism. The piece includes a key with a light blue tassel.
