Lot 477: Italian Mid-Century Hand-Painted Ceramic and Wrought Iron Three-Light Chandelier
A mid-century three-light chandelier featuring hand-painted ceramic components and a wrought-metal frame. The central structure is composed of a rusted iron or steel stem terminating in a ruffled ceiling canopy. The upper section consists of an inverted, bowl-shaped ceramic element decorated with hand-painted floral sprays in red, yellow, and blue, accented by horizontal orange and blue banding. This ceramic piece features decorative pierced trefoil cut-outs. Below the central bowl is a three-arm metal frame supporting candle-style light sockets with drip-effect plastic sleeves. The fixture is finished at the base with a matching smaller ceramic finial. The wiring is standard three-core (blue, brown, and green/yellow). An adhesive auction label is attached to the lower finial. The style is consistent with mid-20th-century Italian folk-art pottery.
Approximate length: 50-60 cm
Approximate diameter of ceramic bowl: 20-25 cm.
