Lot 528: Two Vintage Wooden Storage Boxes
Two vintage wooden storage boxes of rectangular form. The first box is constructed from a dark-stained wood with a plain flat lid and a recessed finger-pull handle. A small white paper label is affixed to the upper left corner bearing the handwritten characters 1056. The interior displays significant glue residue and remnants of previous lining materials on the lid and base, with a black felt strip at the hinge containing small protruding tacks. The second box is made from a lighter-grained oak, featuring a decorative reeded front panel and small shaped wooden feet. The interior shows substantial wear, including perished yellow foam lining to the lid, blue felt strips along the inner edges, and multi-coloured staining in shades of red, blue, and yellow to the base.
