Lot 589: A Pair of Royal Doulton Classic Pooh Ceramic Figurines, Rabbit's Harvest? and Patient Bear
A pair of Royal Doulton glazed porcelain figurines from the Classic Pooh collection, inspired by the E.H. Shepard illustrations for A.A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh. The first figurine, titled Rabbit’s Harvest? (WP67), depicts a grey rabbit with pink-lined ears standing on a tan textured base next to a wicker-style basket filled with fruit and vegetables. The base features a brown printed mark including the Royal Doulton and Classic Pooh logos, stating Hand Made and Hand Decorated, dated 2004. The second figurine, titled Patient Bear, depicts Winnie-the-Pooh lying on a green grassy base wearing a white bib with red hearts, positioned next to a pink pot and a white first-aid block with a green cross. The base of this figure also carries the Royal Doulton and Classic Pooh marks along with a retail barcode label. Both items are accompanied by their original yellow illustrated manufacturer’s boxes, and the Patient Bear figurine includes its cardboard identification tag.
