Lot 592: A Collection of Vintage RAF Navigational Instruments, Automobilia, and Personal Accessories
A collection of vintage items comprising aeronautical navigational instruments, motoring memorabilia, and personal collectibles. The lot includes an RAF Computer Dead Reckoning Mark 4, marked with reference number 6B/490 and the broad arrow military insignia. Accompanying this is a Blundell Harling Portland Series 130mm combined protractor and parallel rule, housed in its original blue cardboard box, and a Perspex Maclean navigational protractor with a printed instruction sheet. The collection contains two compasses, including a black military-style marching compass and a simple round metal-cased compass. Drawing tools include a pair of folding brass dividers and a brass pencil compass. Automobilia is represented by a vintage yellow and black Automobile Association vehicle grille badge in a chrome-plated frame and a July 1939 supplement of The Autocar titled Week-End and Holiday Runs. Also included is a cylindrical copper flask with a brass screw-top cap and a vintage Orlik Sport brass pocket lighter.
