Lot 599: Two Pieces of English Fine Bone China comprising a Royal Doulton Teacup and Saucer and a Royal Grafton Lidded Sugar Bowl
A lot consisting of two distinct items of English fine bone china. The first item is a teacup and saucer manufactured by Royal Doulton. Both pieces feature a scalloped rim with gilded edging and are decorated with transfer-printed garlands of pink roses or blossoms. The underside of the saucer is marked with a green factory backstamp featuring a lion surmounting a crown above a circular device with the text Royal Doulton and England. The second item is a lidded sugar bowl by Royal Grafton in the Summer Melody pattern. The bowl has a bulbous, fluted body and a matching lid with a scrolling handle. The decoration consists of transfer-printed sprays of small pink, white, and blue flowers with green foliage. The base is marked in gold with the pattern name Summer Melody and the Royal Grafton fine bone china factory mark. A red circular sticker is affixed over a portion of the manufacturer mark on the sugar bowl.
