Lot 688: A Collection of Metal Military Figures including W. Britain Scottish Bagpipers and a Mark Time Battle of Britain Commemoration Set
A collection comprising two distinct sets of hand-painted metal military figures. The first set, manufactured by W. Britain, features three Scottish Highland bagpipers in ceremonial dress. The figures are depicted in varied tunic colours of red, green, and black, complete with tartan kilts and traditional regimental attire. They remain attached to the original yellow and red card display backing, which is printed with the manufacturer names Britains and W. Britain. The second set is a Battle of Britain Commemoration Set, produced by Mark Time as a limited edition of 500 for BCA Military Book Clubs. This set includes three die-cast metal figures representing historical figures from the Royal Air Force: Group Captain Douglas Bader, Air Chief Marshal Lord Dowding, and Flight Lieutenant J. B. Nicolson VC. Each figure is identified by name on its respective base. The set is housed in its original red presentation box featuring a gold foil RAF wing emblem.
