Lot 695: A Nigerian Carved Hardwood Openwork Harvest Scene Wall Plaque
A circular, hand-carved openwork wall plaque produced in Nigeria, crafted from a single piece of dark-stained hardwood. The central relief carving depicts two stylised human figures in profile, characterised by large almond-shaped eyes and tiered headdresses. Their attire is decorated with incised geometric patterns. The scene is framed by a wide border featuring a repeating triangular motif. A handwritten adhesive label marked 1080 is affixed to the lower figure, and a lot tag for HCP Auctions South West (Lot 695) is visible adjacent to the piece.
