Lot 229: A Vintage Matchbox Models of Yesteryear Die-cast 1914 Prince Henry Vauxhall
A vintage Matchbox Models of Yesteryear die-cast 1914 Prince Henry Vauxhall, identified as model number Y-2. The vehicle features a vibrant red die-cast metal body contrasted with a silver-painted bonnet and brass-effect radiator, headlights, and exterior trim. The interior is fitted with beige moulded plastic button-back seating for four. It is constructed with a black-painted die-cast chassis and four red-spoked wheels with white rubber tyres. The underside of the vehicle is embossed with a series of marks including a copyright symbol followed by “1970 LESNEY”, “PROD. & Co LTD”, “MATCHBOX MODELS OF YESTERYEAR”, “NO Y-2”, “1914 PRINCE HENRY VAUXHALL”, and “MADE IN ENGLAND”.
