Lot 510: An Assortment of Late Victorian Salt-glazed Stoneware Domestic Wares
An assortment of five late Victorian salt-glazed stoneware domestic wares, comprising a large ovoid storage jar, a pair of matching pantry jars, and two foot warmers. The storage jar is designed with a wide ovoid body, twin integral lug handles, and an inset lid with a central knob finial, finished in a traditional two-tone salt glaze featuring a dark ferruginous brown upper section over a tan body. The two matching cylindrical pantry jars are similarly glazed with dark brown collars and cream-coloured bodies. The collection is completed by two cylindrical foot warmers, each featuring a flattened side to prevent rolling and a central threaded aperture; the larger example is fitted with a black, cross-hatched textured screw-top stopper, while the smaller example retains a light stoneware stopper.
