Lot 512: A Trio of Vintage Glazed Ceramic Trompe l'Oeil Fruit Ornaments
A trio of vintage glazed ceramic trompe l’oeil fruit ornaments, comprising three distinct sculptural tabletop displays. The first piece features a white oval lattice-work basket containing six bright oranges, each hand-modelled with a dimpled texture to simulate orange peel and accented with applied green leaves and two small white blossoms. The second piece is a shallow circular white bowl containing three large yellow lemons, decorated with a single leaf and blossom. The third item is a pyramidal stack of approximately seven lemons, finished with a two-tone yellow and pale green glaze and interspersed with four small daisy-style flowers with yellow centres. Each ornament is finished in a thick, high-gloss glaze characteristic of mid-20th-century Mediterranean decorative earthenware. There are no visible maker’s marks, factory stamps, or country-of-origin labels on any of the three pieces.
