Lot 522: Three Vintage Resin Pirate Shipwreck Aquarium Ornaments
Three vintage resin pirate shipwreck aquarium ornaments, comprising a large two-piece galleon wreck and a smaller coordinating shipwreck. Each piece is cast from resin and intricately moulded to represent the weathered remains of a sunken galleon, featuring detailed timber grain, broken masts, and remnants of tattered sails. The exterior surfaces are hand-painted in a palette of dark brown, grey, and muted red, with applied green textured moss effects providing a realistic underwater appearance. Additional moulded details include portholes and a small yellow snail shell visible on the hull of the larger piece. The ornaments are designed with hollow interiors and various irregular swim-through portals to accommodate aquatic livestock. One larger piece bears a handwritten adhesive label reading ‘Large 2 Piece Aquarium Pirate Ship + one Smaller’ with the number ‘1893’ circled below. A further inventory sticker for ‘HCP Auctions South West’ with the lot number ’42’ is present on the display shelf. No manufacturer’s branding or stamps are visible on the exterior surfaces.
