Lot 523: A Collection of Vintage English Ceramic Tablewares including Sadler, Royal Worcester and Maling
A collection of vintage English ceramic tablewares including Sadler, Royal Worcester and Maling. The group includes a glazed earthenware novelty teapot by Sadler modelled as a square building with a clock tower lid, decorated with transfer-printed golfers in 18th-century attire titled ‘A Round of Golf’. The base is marked with black printed characters including ‘SADLER’, ‘MADE IN ENGLAND’, and a trophy cup with the script ‘Championships’, alongside ‘Reg. Design 2019292’ and the title ‘A Round of Golf’. A large circular flameproof porcelain casserole dish in the Royal Worcester ‘Evesham’ pattern features transfer-printed fruit motifs and a gilt rim. The base bears a circular printed mark with ‘ROYAL WORCESTER’, a ‘W’ logo, ‘FLAMEPROOF PORCELAIN’, and ‘ENGLAND’, with ‘Evesham’ in script followed by ‘Shape 23’ and ‘Size – 6’. A yellow lustre-glazed tennis set by Maling consists of a scalloped plate and matching cup, bearing a printed mark of the word ‘MALING’ above a castle-style gatehouse and ‘ENGLAND’. Further items include a green floral-pattern tea set, a porcelain tea set decorated with pink rose sprays, and various pieces of glazed ceramic decorative fruit.
