Lot 536: A Vintage Aynsley Ceramic Teddleybears of Pine Forest Nursery Ware Set
A vintage Aynsley ceramic Teddleybears of Pine Forest nursery ware set, comprising a porringer and a matching mug, presented in its original illustrated card box. Each piece is constructed from white glazed ceramic and decorated with vibrant transfer-printed illustrations of anthropomorphic teddy bears in various woodland scenes. The porringer is a wide-rimmed shallow bowl featuring a group of bears by a riverbank with a small boat, encircled by a brown text border reading ‘Mr. and Mrs. Teddleybear, Yo-Yo and Nuts gave Tom, Dick and little Harri a great welcome home!’. The mug depicts a single bear in blue denim overalls and a striped shirt, fishing with a rod and a bucket. The interior of the bowl retains a blue and gold foil adhesive sticker with a crown crest and the text ‘EST 1775 AYNSLEY ENGLAND’. The light blue card box is printed with ‘TEDDLEYBEARS of Pine Forest Nursery Ware PORRINGER MUG Manufactured by AYNSLEY CHINA LIMITED’ and carries a modern white auction label for ‘Lot 536’.
