Lot 558: A Late Victorian Elkington & Co Sterling Silver Salver
A Late Victorian Elkington & Co sterling silver salver of circular form, featuring a moulded shell and scroll border. The central well is elaborately decorated with flat-chased rococo-style foliate scrolls, shells, and diaper-work patterns, surrounding a circular plain reserve. The salver is supported by three cast scroll-form feet. The underside near the rim bears a series of four hallmarks, including a maker mark reading ‘E & Co’ in a rectangular cartouche, a crown town mark for Sheffield, a lion passant standard mark for sterling silver, and a lowercase letter date mark ‘c’.
