Lot 557: A Vintage Sunflower Pattern Hand-painted Earthenware Vase
A vintage sunflower pattern hand-painted earthenware vase, featuring a tall, tapered form that transitions from a wide trumpet-shaped rim to a broad circular foot. The body is constructed from a cream-coloured earthenware finished with a glossy white glaze. The exterior is decorated with expressive, hand-painted sunflowers in vibrant yellow with brown centres, accompanied by olive green leaves. A thin, hand-painted yellow band encircles the upper portion of the body just below the flared neck. The underside of the circular foot is glazed in plain white and bears no discernible maker’s marks, factory stamps, or artist signatures. A strip of cream-coloured masking tape is adhered to the neck, inscribed with the handwritten inventory number ‘9249’ in black ink.
