Lot 578: A Vintage Royal Worcester Fine Bone China Figurine titled The Last Waltz
A vintage Royal Worcester fine bone china figurine from the late 20th century, titled The Last Waltz. The piece depicts a woman in Victorian-era evening dress, sculpted in a graceful posture and holding an open fan. The figurine is finished with a high-gloss glaze and decorated with delicate sprays of purple flowers and gold-toned highlights to the bodice and cuffs. The underside of the base features printed marks in brown ink, including a circular manufacturer mark topped with a crown containing a stylised letter W, surrounded by the text ROYAL WORCESTER, FINE BONE CHINA, and MADE IN ENGLAND. Additional text identifies the piece as part of A Figure Collection In Fine Bone China by Royal Worcester inspired by the romance of the Victorian era. The title The Last Waltz is printed in a decorative script, and it is marked as A Numbered Limited Edition Figure of 12,500 of which this is no. 6,968. The sculptor is credited as N. Stevens with a signature-style mark, alongside a stylised CW monogram and a copyright notice for Compton and Woodhouse Ltd. 1991. A small hand-painted mark in blue ink is also present on the base.
