A collection of vintage Chinese Liling porcelain tableware and figurines, comprising various dining pieces and decorative animal forms. The lot includes several nested porcelain bowls and matching ceramic spoons, decorated in a famille rose style with hand-painted scenes of children playing in a garden, alongside a group of bowls featuring red medallions containing longevity characters amidst floral scrolls. Two cat-form teapots are included; one depicts a white seated cat holding an orange fish with floral spray decoration, while the other is a stylised animal form with large eyes. The collection further features a tall seated cat figurine decorated in the mille-fleur fashion with dense floral blooms on a cream ground, and several small rabbit-shaped chopstick rests with blue cross-hatched patterns. A small porcelain cup with a deep blue glaze, central floral cartouche, and gilt accents is also present. The bases of the bowls bear a circular red backstamp with the characters 中國 (Zhongguo) at the top, 醴陵出品 (Liling Chupin) in the centre, and MADE IN CHINA at the bottom. The teapot base bears a red backstamp reading 中國製造 (Zhongguo Zhizao) above MADE IN CHINA. Accompanying the lot is a white adhesive sticker printed 587 and a handwritten paper note reading v. 932. Oriental Dining Set with Lucky Chinese Teapots + Chinoiserie Cat Figurine.
Condition report:
The items are in good overall condition with no visible cracks or significant chips to the glazed surfaces (photos 1, 2). There is a layer of surface dust and minor scuffing consistent with age and previous use. Shelf wear is visible on the unglazed foot rims of the bowls and teapots (photos 3, 4). Minor kiln spots and firing imperfections typical of mid-to-late 20th-century export porcelain are present throughout the lot.
