Lot 585: A Vintage Wedgwood Bone China Dish in the Chinese Legend Pattern
A vintage Wedgwood bone china dish in the Chinese Legend pattern, together with a celadon glazed stoneware bowl and a two-handled cobalt blue earthenware pot. The Wedgwood dish is of rectangular form with rounded corners and a flared rim, transfer-printed in polychrome enamels with a traditional landscape scene featuring pagodas, bridges, and birds within a fine blue geometric border. The base bears a brown printed backstamp comprising an urn device above the text WEDGWOOD Bone China MADE IN ENGLAND and CHINESE LEGEND. The item is presented in its original blue card box with a red and white patterned tissue liner. The accompanying stoneware bowl features a wide, shallow circular form with a pale celadon-green satin-glazed interior and a natural unglazed buff exterior. The small globular earthenware pot is finished in a deep cobalt blue high-gloss glaze with a contrasting dark brown interior and two small lug handles.
