Lot 1071: A Vintage Powder-Coated Metal Bed Frame with Sprung Wooden Slats
A vintage powder-coated metal bed frame, accompanied by a quantity of sprung wooden slats and a wicker storage basket. The bed frame is constructed from tubular metal with a dark grey anthracite powder-coated finish. The design features a high, arched headboard and a matching lower footboard, both incorporating vertical slat detailing and decorative curved upper rails. The lot includes the corresponding metal side rails. Also included is an assortment of sprung, laminated wooden bed slats, likely birch, many of which are fitted with black plastic end caps featuring twin-pin fixings. These are presented within a large, rectangular, dark-stained wicker storage basket with a woven lid. A white adhesive label on the headboard bears the text ‘LOT – 1071’, and a white adhesive label on one side rail shows the characters ‘963’ (photo 4); additional text on this label is illegible. No manufacturer’s names or branding are visible on the metal frame or the wooden slats.
Large-scale furniture items; exact dimensions are not provided.
Condition report:
The metal frame shows multiple surface scratches, minor scuff marks, and a layer of dust across the powder-coated finish (photo 1 and 4). The wicker basket exhibits wear to the weave, including small breaks and loose ends typical of age and use (photo 2 and 3). The full complement of slats required for a complete bed has not been verified.
