Lot 1070: A Vintage Painted Wood and Upholstered Dressing Table Stool
A vintage painted wood and upholstered dressing table stool of traditional form. The rectangular seat is upholstered in a cream-toned woven fabric featuring a diamond pattern with fleur-de-lis motifs. The wooden frame has been finished in a modern matt grey paint and is constructed with a scalloped apron on the long sides. It stands on four turned legs. A white adhesive auction label is affixed to the seat reading ‘HCP Auctions South West’, ‘Lot 1070’, and ‘www.hcpauctions.net’. A small brown fabric tag is stitched into the edge of the upholstery, although the characters are not legible.
Large-scale furniture items; exact dimensions are not provided.
Condition report:
The upholstery is in poor condition with significant staining and heavy soiling across the top surface (photo 1). There is visible fraying to the fabric at the corners of the seat (photo 1). The grey painted finish to the frame remains generally intact with some minor scuffs consistent with age and utility (photo 2).
