Lot 1100: A Vintage Pine Slatted Headboard / Footboard
A vintage pine slatted headboard / footboard of functional construction, comprising a series of vertical pine slats secured between two horizontal rails. The top rail features a moulded upper edge, while the slats are flat-sawn with characteristic knots and grain patterns visible throughout the natural finish. A small white rectangular adhesive label is affixed to one of the outer slats, bearing the printed black number 1100. The reverse shows similar slatted construction with recessed screw holes for assembly to a bed frame. No other maker’s marks or manufacturer stamps are visible on the timber.

Condition report:
The component exhibits significant horizontal surface discoloration across all slats, appearing as a distinct line where the lower half is darker than the upper section, likely caused by uneven light exposure or the previous placement of a mattress (photo 1). There are scattered surface scuffs, small indentations, and light scratches to the wood consistent with prior use and handling (photo 2). The item shows a general accumulation of dust and storage grime (photo 1).
