A pair of late Victorian oak book troughs / shelving units of simple, robust construction. Each unit is built from solid oak with a dark, aged patina and features a central vertical partition creating two open compartments. The side panels are finished with decorative ogee-shaped cutouts, suggesting a possible ecclesiastical or library origin. The units show traditional joinery consistent with late 19th-century craftsmanship. Multiple white adhesive lot labels are present; the upper unit bears three rectangular labels reading 1080, 1099, and 1080, while the lower unit features a single label reading 1080.

Condition report:
Both units exhibit wear and signs of heavy use consistent with age. There is significant finish loss and surface staining across the oak panels (photo 1). Abrasions and minor wood loss are visible at the corners and along the edges of the base (photo 1). Adhesive residue and labels are present on the exterior surfaces.
