Lot 647: A Pair of Vintage Lladró Glazed Porcelain Figurines
A pair of vintage Lladró glazed porcelain figurines, comprising an Eskimo child with a polar bear and a young clown with balloons. The Eskimo figurine depicts a child in a traditional hooded parka and a blue patterned knit hat, standing alongside a small polar bear cub. The second figurine features a young clown in a pale blue star-patterned jumpsuit with large buttons and a ruffled collar, holding a bunch of pastel-coloured balloons. Both pieces are finished in the characteristic Lladró palette of soft greys, blues, and muted pinks with a high-gloss glaze. The base of the Eskimo figurine features a blue printed mark with the Lladró bellflower symbol above the words LLADRÓ, HAND MADE IN SPAIN, and © DAISA 1984, alongside an impressed model number 5238 and the name COTA. The clown figurine bears a similar blue printed mark reading LLADRÓ, HAND MADE IN SPAIN, and © DAISA 1990, with further illegible impressed characters to the base.
Condition report:
Both figurines are in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or restorations. The delicate balloon wires and porcelain spheres on the clown figure are entirely intact, and the glazed surfaces of both pieces remain bright and free from wear.
