Lot 660: A Vintage Frosted Glass Two-Piece Vanity Set
A vintage frosted glass two-piece vanity set from the mid-20th century, comprising a perfume atomizer and a matching lidded jar. Both vessels are constructed from translucent frosted glass and feature a globular form decorated with a gadrooned pattern of swirled vertical ribs. The atomizer is fitted with a bright gold-toned metal collar and pump mechanism attached to a white textile-braided cord. The coordinating vanity jar has a removable lid with a simple spherical finial. The set is presented in its original grey cardboard pictorial box, which features printed icons labelled EC, FP, and FB and the title GLASS VANITY SET. A white adhesive label from HCP Auctions South West is affixed to the packaging, identifying the item as Lot 660. No maker’s marks or signatures are present on the glass itself.
Condition report:
The glass components are in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or notable surface scratches (photo 1). The gold-toned metalwork on the atomizer remains bright and the braided cord is clean and appears functional. The original cardboard packaging shows significant shelf wear, including surface scuffing and edge fraying (photo 1). The interior of the jar is clean and free from residue (photo 2).
