Lot 661: A Pair of Vintage Royal Commemorative Model Delivery Vans
A pair of vintage royal commemorative model delivery vans, each presented in a characteristic purple window display box with gold-tone accents. The collection includes a purple vintage-style delivery van, manufactured to celebrate the centenary of the Queen Mother. The side panel features a gold circular decal depicting a portrait of the Queen Mother with the printed text 1900 – 2000. The associated box flap is printed with the text The Queen Mother and 4th August 2000. The second model is finished in a metallic gold-tone paint to commemorate the 2002 Golden Jubilee. The side panels are printed in purple with a crown emblem, the dates 1952 – 2002, and the words GOLDEN JUBILEE. Both vehicles are constructed from die-cast metal with black plastic chassis and spoked wheels. A handwritten white paper label bearing the digits 9249 is adhered to the upper left corner of the purple van’s display window. The barcodes on the base are present but the specific manufacturer name is not clearly legible in the provided imagery.
Condition report:
The die-cast models appear to be in mint, unplayed-with condition within their original packaging. The display boxes show moderate signs of shelf wear, including light scuffing to the clear plastic windows (photo 1) and minor creasing with whitening at the cardboard corners and edges (photo 2). There is visible adhesive residue and a handwritten paper tag on the top of the purple van\'s box (photo 1 and photo 2).
