Buyer's Premium:

A late Victorian / Edwardian Jacobean revival oak two-piece bookcase / display cabinet, constructed in two sections with a dark stained finish. The upper section features a prominent dentil-moulded cornice above a pair of doors, each containing multiple rectangular leaded glass panes. These doors are flanked by carved pilasters with turned drop-finial motifs at the top and bottom. The interior is fitted with adjustable wooden shelves. The lower cupboard base comprises two solid doors, each decorated with a central recessed panel and applied geometric X-shape strapwork moulding. The entire piece is supported by a deep, multi-stepped plinth base. A small white adhesive label reading 1134 is present on the upper frieze. No maker marks, stamps, or labels are visible on the exterior or through the glazing.

Large-scale furniture items; exact dimensions are not provided.

Condition report:

The cabinet is in a found condition and requires a thorough cleaning due to heavy accumulations of dust, cobwebs, and dirt across all surfaces (photo 1 and 4). The wood shows general surface wear including minor scuffs, scratches, and small indentations consistent with age and storage (photo 2 and 3). There are white marks and splatters visible on the lower plinth base (photo 2). The leaded glazing appears intact with no visible damage to the panes or cames (photo 1).
