Lot 1149: A Pair of Vintage Classic Car Digital Pigment Prints on Canvas
A pair of vintage classic car digital pigment prints on canvas, each stretched over an internal wooden gallery frame. The first print depicts a close-up perspective of the front left quarter of a red 1958 to 1960 Chevrolet Corvette C1, highlighting its dual headlights, chrome vertical-tooth grille, and a whitewall tyre with a polished hubcap. The nose features an emblem depicting two crossed flags; one is a checkered racing flag, and the other is red bearing a gold fleur-de-lis and the Chevrolet bowtie logo. The second print shows a frontal view of a copper-toned Buick, with the manufacturer name B U I C K applied in individual chrome-style letters to the hood. It features a Cuban blue license plate reading CUBA HSP 507 and is set against a background of colonial-style Havana architecture. Both square-format prints utilise a gallery-wrapped presentation where the image continues around the sides of the stretcher bars. A white adhesive label reading HCP Auctions South West Lot 1149 www.hcpauctions.net is present on the Corvette print, and a smaller label reading Lot 1146 is affixed to the Buick print.
Condition report:
Minor scuffing and wear to the canvas at the corners and along the wrapped edges is visible (photos 2 and 3). Light surface dust is present throughout. The structural integrity of the wooden stretcher frames appears sound, and there are no visible tears, punctures, or foxing.
