Lot 1167: Three Vintage Framed Artworks including an Oil Painting and R. M. Barr Photographs (Signed)
Three vintage framed artworks including an oil painting on board, a wildlife photographic print, and a signed photographic montage. The oil painting depicts a traditional English canal-side village with a prominent church spire and autumnal foliage, presented in a tiered gilt wood frame. The wildlife print shows a Canada goose and goslings on water, double-matted within a black frame with a gilt inner border. The third item is a landscape-format frame housing six black-and-white photographs of a young girl in ballet and costume poses. A cream mat is signed in the lower right ‘R. M. Barr’ in black ink. The painting bears a white adhesive label reading ‘HCP Auctions South West Lot 1167’. The photographic montage bears a white adhesive label reading ‘HCP Auctions South West Lot 1014′ and a white square label with the number ’32’.
Condition report:
The oil painting and wildlife print appear in good condition with no visible faults to the works or frames (photos 1, 2, 3). The photographic montage shows significant brown spotting and foxing throughout the cream matting (photo 4). Minor surface scuffs are visible on the frames (photo 1).
