Buyer's Premium:

A trio of antique decorative ceramic teapots, comprising three distinct examples of late 19th-century utility and ornamental wares. The first example is a globular porcelain or fine earthenware teapot featuring a white ground decorated with hand-painted polychrome floral sprays in shades of pink, blue, and yellow. It includes a geometric diaper-pattern border in black and blue with gold highlights to the shoulder and lid, while the handle and spout are finished with black-glazed accents. The second item is a small, rounded earthenware teapot with a cream-coloured crackle-glazed body, decorated with a printed and hand-coloured scene depicting figures in traditional dress within a landscape. The third teapot is a relief-moulded earthenware vessel with a mottled brown glaze, featuring a handle and spout formed as simulated bamboo and fitted with protective metal mounts to the rim and lid. The lid of the brown-glazed teapot bears a white adhesive label with the handwritten digits 46671. No permanent manufacturer marks are visible on any of the pieces.

Condition report:

A small chip is visible on the tip of the spout of the floral teapot (photo 1). The cream landscape teapot shows a significant chip to the tip of the spout (photo 4) and fine all-over crazing to the glaze. The brown-glazed teapot exhibits tarnish to the metal mounts (photo 2) and adhesive residue on the lid, but no major chips or cracks are visible to the ceramic body.
