Lot 728: A Collection of Vintage Pro Set 1991-92 Football League Trading Cards
A collection of vintage Pro Set 1991-92 Football League trading cards, consisting of a large quantity of loose cards. The cards are produced from printed cardstock and depict professional footballers from the English leagues. Each card features a printed manufacturer’s mark reading PRO SET in a rectangular box alongside the Football League emblem. Visible player cards in the lot include Tim Sherwood and Ian Crook in Norwich City yellow and green kits, Steve Hodge in a Nottingham Forest red kit, Kevin Moran for Blackburn Rovers, and Nigel Martyn for Crystal Palace. The cards are decorated with a red-bordered section containing the player’s name and club, with some cards also displaying period sponsors such as Asics, Shipstones, and Draper Tools. The collection includes a wide range of players from the era, with the cards being finished in a semi-gloss coating.
Condition report:
The visible cards appear to be in good, collectible condition. Examples shown individually display sharp corners and clean edges with no evidence of creasing or significant surface losses (photo 2). Centering appears consistent with the original production standards of the period. As the lot is stored loose within a glass bowl (photo 1), minor surface scratching or incidental corner wear may be present on cards positioned deeper within the stack.
