Lot 749: A Vintage German Glazed White Porcelain Angel Musician Figurine
A vintage German glazed white porcelain angel musician figurine, modelled as a winged celestial figure playing a stringed instrument resembling a mandolin or lute. The figure is depicted wearing flowing robes with detailed feathered wings and a serene expression, finished in a uniform white glaze. The underside of the base features a printed blue underglaze mark consisting of a crown device positioned above a monogram of two intertwined letters, S and D. To the right of this monogram, the mark includes the words Original and Germany arranged in two lines. The unglazed foot rim shows a circular aperture to the interior of the hollow-cast figure.
Condition report:
A small brown surface deposit or minor firing mark is visible on the soundboard of the musical instrument (photo 1). The unglazed foot rim shows light shelf wear and minor surface dirt (photo 2). The figure appears to be in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or signs of professional restoration.
