Lot 857: A Collection of Vintage Vinyl Records and Books
A collection of vintage vinyl records and books, including the 1992 12-inch vinyl single L.S.I. (Love Sex Intelligence) by the electronic group The Shamen. The principal sleeve features an intricate, multi-layered geometric fractal graphic in purple and blue tones set against a black ground with green digital-style patterns. The artist’s name is printed in a stylized, futuristic font, accompanied by the acronym L S I and the title LOVE SEX INTELLIGENCE. On the right-hand side, the catalogue number 68TP12 is visible alongside three large Kanji characters translated as love, sex, and intelligence. The lot contains several other record sleeves, including one with an abstract, multi-coloured watercolor-style design. An adhesive white label identifying the group as Lot 857 from HCP Auctions South West is fixed to the front, along with a secondary handwritten white label reading 46510 L.
Condition report:
The collection shows general signs of wear consistent with age and use. The visible sleeve for The Shamen single exhibits significant diagonal creasing across the front cover from the left margin (photo 1) and heavy ring wear on the black ground. The corners show blunting and minor laminate lifting, and there is visible rubbing to the edges (photo 2). Two adhesive stickers are present on the front face. The accompanying sleeves and books show varying degrees of shelf wear and minor creasing. The condition of the vinyl discs and book pages has not been verified as the media is not visible in the provided photographs.
