Lot 940: A Vintage MacGregor Synthetic and Metal Stand Golf Bag and Assorted Clubs
A vintage MacGregor synthetic and metal stand golf bag and assorted clubs. The bag is constructed from black and yellow synthetic fabric panels with blue metal folding legs and multiple zipped storage compartments. The side panel displays the maker name MacGregor embossed in a cursive script. The collection of equipment housed within includes one metal wood with a green-finished head, a group of irons including a club head stamped PRO ORBIT OVERSIZE, a telescopic golf ball retriever with a ridged orange plastic handle and scalloped metal cup, a small multi-coloured folding umbrella, and two fabric club head covers in green and black. A white adhesive label attached to the bag rim is printed with the number 940.

Condition report:
The collection shows heavy signs of prior use throughout. The metal wood striking face exhibits significant scratching and paint loss (photo 1). The irons show surface oxidation, accumulated dirt, and wear to the soles (photo 1). Grips appear aged and worn. The bag is heavily soiled with dust and stains, particularly on the yellow panels, with fraying to the seams and various cord additions in red and white (photo 2). The blue metal stand legs show scratches and some bending but remain functional (photo 2).
