Lot 969: A Vintage Mamas & Papas Padded Textile Rocking Horse
A vintage Mamas & Papas padded textile rocking horse, featuring a lilac fabric body with an all-over white star print. The toy is designed with a cream-coloured faux-suede saddle and white faux-fur accents to the mane, tail, and hooves. The animal is mounted on a pair of curved plywood rockers and is equipped with two turned light wood handles projecting from the head. The head is finished with two dark brown embroidered circular motifs for eyes. A small white fabric label is attached to the front right leg, bearing the printed lowercase letters mamas on the top line and & papas on the second line. The item also bears a white adhesive auction lot tag printed with Lot 969 and a secondary handwritten price tag marked £25.
Condition report:
The item appears to be in good, complete condition with the fabric body remaining clean and free from visible tears (photo 2). The white faux-fur trim on the hooves and mane exhibits some light matting consistent with handling and use (photo 1). The wooden rockers show minor scuffs and surface wear to the undersides and edges from contact with the floor (photo 3).
