Lot 17: An Assortment of Forged Steel and Wooden Hand Tools
An assortment of forged steel and wooden hand tools, presented in a well-used condition. The collection includes a variety of manual workshop and building implements, featuring two lump hammers with hardwood shafts and a pick or mattock head mounted on a short wooden handle. A large open-ended spanner is present, stamped in raised lettering with the characters ‘DROP FORGED’. The lot also contains a hand saw with a textured orange and black plastic handle and a steel blade. Measurement and layout tools are represented by a grey metal combination square head with an integrated spirit level bubble, featuring raised characters that appear to read ‘GROUP BRITISH’, though the full inscription is worn. This is accompanied by a heavily oxidised steel ruler. Further items include several chisels and bolsters of varying sizes, one heavy-duty example featuring a handle wrapped in black tape. The tools are constructed from forged and cast steel with traditional wooden and modern plastic handles.
