Lot 516: A Collection of Decorative Tableware to include a Large Platter, Coffee Cans, and Side Dishes
A group of decorative ceramic tableware items comprising earthenware, ironstone, and porcelain pieces. The collection includes a large oval platter with a scalloped gadrooned rim, featuring a central blue and white transfer-printed scene of a bird amongst foliage, bordered by panels of cobalt blue diaper pattern and iron red scrolling foliate motifs. A pair of porcelain coffee cans are decorated with a deep emerald green ground and white scrolling acanthus leaf designs highlighted with gilding, each with a matching circular saucer. A crescent-shaped side dish is decorated with transfer-printed and hand-enamelled floral sprays and a gilded scrolling border on a scalloped edge. A small circular saucer features a traditional Imari-style pattern in underglaze blue and overglaze iron red and gilt, with alternating floral panels. No maker’s marks, stamps, or signatures are discernible on the pieces in the provided images.
