Lot 586: A Collection of Vintage British Slot Cars and Die-cast Miniature Vehicles including Scalextric and Lledo models
A collection of vintage British slot cars and die-cast miniature vehicles. The group includes two 1:32 scale moulded plastic electric slot cars. The first is a 4 1/2 Litre Bentley in British Racing Green livery with a Union Jack decal and the number 9. The green chassis base is moulded with the characters SCALEXTRIC, 4 1/2 LITRE, BENTLEY, MADE IN, and GT. BRITAIN. It also features two circular mould marks, one containing the characters 6 and 8. The second is an Alfa Romeo racing car in light blue with a red front grille and the number 6. The blue chassis base is moulded with the characters SCALEXTRIC, MADE IN, GREAT BRITAIN, and ALFA ROMEO, and bears a blue ink stamp reading 4 8 6. Both vehicles include seated driver figures in period racing attire.
The lot also contains a die-cast delivery truck with Wakefield Castrol Motor Oil livery, housed in a green and cream window box printed with the characters MADE IN ENGLAND BY LLEDO. Additionally, there is a set of several early 20th-century style die-cast motor cars presented in a white plastic insert tray within a cream cardboard box. The box features a printed label reading WARNING! These cars are not toys.
