A vintage Odekunle carved Yoruba hardwood wall plaque, featuring a circular openwork design. The plaque is constructed from a single piece of dense hardwood with a dark reddish-brown stained and polished finish. The composition depicts two intertwined figures, rendered in a traditional Yoruba aesthetic with large, heavy-lidded almond eyes and triple scarification marks to the cheeks. A stylised bird is integrated into the upper edge of the scene. The figures are dressed in garments with detailed incised geometric patterns, and the outer rim is finished with a continuous border of repeating triangles. The outer edge of the rim bears an incised signature in capital letters reading ODEKUNLE.
