Lot 928: Antique Saxon-Style Spoked Wooden Spinning Wheel
An antique wooden spinning wheel of horizontal Saxon design, constructed from dark-stained timber with turned legs, spokes, and supports. The structure features a large spoked drive wheel connected by a metal pitman arm to a foot treadle. The mother-of-all assembly includes a flyer and bobbin, currently partially disassembled and secured with string, and is controlled by a turned wooden tension screw. An incised mark or symbol is present on the upper surface of the main horizontal bed; however, the characters are heavily worn and are not legible as a name. The distaff is missing from its designated socket.
