A collection of black painted metal coal buckets and fireplace tools. The set comprises two heavy-duty coal scuttles or buckets, each featuring a matte black finish and a curved, fixed metal handle for transport. Included with the buckets is an assortment of hearth tools: a pair of black-handled tongs, a set of chrome-plated fire irons, and at least one tool terminating in a decorative brass ball finial. The buckets are of simple, utilitarian construction with riveted handle mounts. One bucket bears a white adhesive rectangular label reading 971, which appears to be a lot number. No other maker’s marks, manufacturer labels, or country-of-origin marks are visible on the tools or the buckets.
