Buyer's Premium:

A Record No. 53E heavy-duty woodworking vice manufactured in England. The tool is constructed with a cast iron body finished in the manufacturer signature blue paint. It features a quick-release lever mechanism, a central steel screw, and twin steel guide rods. The front and rear jaws are currently fitted with wooden liners. The main body displays the cast-in lettering RECORD and No 53E, while the circular base section is marked MADE IN ENGLAND. A yellow and blue decal is present on the front face reading GENUINE RECORD. The vice includes its original steel T-handle and quick-release trigger.

Condition report:

The vice shows significant signs of age and workshop use. There is substantial paint loss and surface dirt across the cast iron body. All unpainted steel components, including the guide rods, main screw, and handle, exhibit extensive surface oxidation and rust. The mechanical action has not been tested and the moving parts will require cleaning, de-rusting, and lubrication to return to smooth working order. Sold as seen for restoration.
