The auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £30

Estimated price: £40

Buyer's Premium:

This Victorian-era stoneware flagon is of ovoid form and was manufactured by Price Powell in Bristol. The vessel features a single loop handle and a narrow neck with a flared rim. It is decorated with a traditional two-tone salt glaze; the upper shoulder, neck, and handle are finished in a honey-brown ferruginous slip, while the lower body features a pale cream Bristol-style glaze. A circular impressed maker’s mark is located on the shoulder, with the text Price Powell Potters Bristol arranged in a circular format. The item shows typical utilitarian stoneware construction with visible kiln-firing characteristics.

Condition report:

The flagon is in good overall condition consistent with age and utilitarian use. There is generalised surface staining and minor kiln-firing imperfections, such as pitting, typical of salt-glazed stoneware. No significant cracks or large structural chips are observed.
