Lot 133: A Vintage Chinese Style Blue and White Ceramic Dragon Planter
A large ceramic fish bowl planter of circular, deep-sided form featuring a broad, flat rim. The exterior is finished in a cream-coloured glaze and decorated with a hand-painted underglaze cobalt blue stylised dragon encircling the body. The interior is unglazed or partially glazed. No maker’s marks or reign marks are visible on the exterior; the underside of the base has not been inspected.
Condition report:
The item shows signs of use consistent with its function as a garden planter. The interior contains soil and organic matter. There is surface dirt and minor staining to the exterior glaze. No significant chips or cracks are immediately apparent, though there are minor surface abrasions and typical firing irregularities.
