Lot 477: A Moroccan Beni Ourain Style Shaggy Wool Rug
A contemporary high-pile Berber-style rug produced in the manner of traditional Beni Ourain tribal weavings. The rug is hand-woven from thick natural wool, featuring a dense shaggy pile. The design consists of a natural cream field decorated with a minimalist large-scale diamond lattice pattern in thin dark charcoal or deep brown lines. The rug is finished with a simple knotted fringe at one end. No manufacturer labels or weaver marks are present. The item bears a small adhesive auction lot tag numbered 471.
Condition report:
The rug is in good used condition. There is evidence of light surface soiling and pile compression consistent with regular domestic use. No significant staining, major wear, or visible repairs were noted upon visual inspection of the draped item. A full unfolding for a comprehensive inspection is recommended.
