Buyer's Premium:

This collection of approximately 18 ceramic items comprises a variety of decorative and utilitarian small jugs, creamers, and a wall pocket, primarily of British origin. Key items include a pair of Shorter and Son Ltd fruit jugs featuring relief-moulded basketweave textures and hand-painted fruit decoration depicting apples, grapes, and cherries. These glazed earthenware jugs bear a green factory stamp to the base and incised model number 398. Also included is a Poole Pottery footed creamer hand-painted with a branch of pink blossoms, marked with the leaping dolphin stamp and pattern code BN. A heart-shaped German wall pocket is finished in a matte green glaze and marked Germany 716/2 to the reverse. The assortment further contains a log-form jug with mottled green and brown lead-type glaze, a blue and white transfer-printed floral jug, a hand-painted poppy jug, and a novelty blue-glazed jug inscribed Beer in white script. The remaining items consist of various earthenware and porcelain creamers with floral, banded, and plain designs.

Condition report:

The collection is generally in good vintage condition. The Shorter and Son jugs exhibit light glaze crazing. The Poole creamer appears to be in good condition. The blue and white transferware jug has a visible small chip to the rim of the spout. Several items show internal staining and surface dirt consistent with age and use. Prospective buyers should expect minor wear and crazing typical for earthenware of this period across the lot.
